Alcohol affects physical endurance

"Here’s why alcohol is not your best buddy when it come to your exercise or bodybuilding routine.

Although research has proven that small amounts of alcohol does increase muscular endurance and the strength output, these benefits are very short lived.

After about 20 minutes, the reverse will happen where a reduction in strength, endurance and aerobic capability will occur. Your recovery time is also affected and the body's ability to metabolize fat and even your muscle growth will slow down as well...."
